Short Fiction

Short fiction is oft-touted as a truly American genre. In the 20th and 21st century there is no denying the clout of the short story. Publications like Best American Short Stories and countless literary journals have delved deeply into the vast stores of short fiction and there seems to be no bottom.

The Two Eyes
A campfire tale of horror and suspense. A man is stalked at night by a strange set of eyes, but the biggest surprise comes when he thinks he is finally safe.

A Millionth Universe
Inspired by the writings of Italo Calvino, this impressionistic piece scours the preconceptions of perception and understanding.

Navajo Pride
Pride. Who deserves it? A man ventures into the desert in a vain attempt to bolster his hubris but gets more than he bargained for.
